THE GUT - SKIN - MOOD CONNECTION
Experiencing Acne? Anxious? Stressed? Bloated? Digestive Issues? Like me, you’ve probably tried your fair share of creams, lotions, pills, supplements and diets to fix things.
But here’s the thing. Changing one aspect of your health can only do so much. Think about it. You can’t isolate your torso and focus on fixing your gut health while the rest of your body (that’s attached!) continues as per usual. There’s a whole lot of complex things happening in that beautiful body of yours and each part is talking to each other.
For example, you can take action to improve your mental health but if you’re feeding yourself poorly or having trouble digesting your food, then you’ll still have difficulty feeling your best.
If you focus on healing your gut and tending to digestive issues but your lifestyle or circumstances bring you so much stress, poor sleep and anxiety, then your mental health will affect how well your gut functions.
When you’re stressed, depressed, anxious or angry your body releases hormones that alter your digestive function. When your digestive function is compromised and your hormones are out of whack because you’re not taking care of your mental health, then chances are your skin won’t have it’s healthy glow and, if you’re like me, you’ll have a face full of breakouts!
It might sound like a lot to consider, but that’s where I come in to help you!
Hi, I'm Larina
I’m a university-trained dietitian, herb enthusiast and anxiety-prone human.
For my entire twenties I’ve battled with anxiety, digestive issues and intolerances and persistent acne.
Fed up with still having breakouts that were promised to disappear the moment I escaped my ‘teens’, I decided to research skin health. Turns out, it has a whole lot to do with your gut function and your mental health. They’re all very closely linked!
Join me as I share my ever-evolving insights into the connections between your gut, skin and mood and how to look and feel your best naturally with the power of real food, ancient wisdom and potent botanicals.
